In this painting you're right in the middle of the pack, racing up the street—part of the action. Combining several cars in one view presented a challenge in both scale and perspective. Michael chose a single point perspective for creating the dramatic streetscape. To draw attention to the Shakers, he aligned all of the hood scoops along the horizon line. In fact,, positioning the red Mach 1's Shaker directly on the vanishing point. In the two years of production, the Mach 1 was available in 8 colors. In Michael's signature use of reflections, all 8 colors are represented.
