Mach Speed was inspired by not only the location, but the roar of the engines as they took to the track. The Speedway
was the natural setting in which to portray the aerodynamic styling of the Mach I.” —  MICHAEL IRVINE

 

Accented by stripes, scoops and spoilers, these Mach 1s personified the street racing image. Set against the backdrop of the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina, this painting features the 1969, 1970 and 1971 Mach 1.
